We’re coming up on the one year anniversary for Underground Airwaves! Throughout the past year we’ve heard 24 amazing stories (not including the bonus episodes and episodes with multiple stories!) from passionate people involved in food. We can’t wait to seek out and present even more stories in the future!
To commemorate the anniversary, I tell a personal story about a Boy Scout camping trip themed around the wilderness survival merit badge. The trip goes awry when the adults discover a Doctor Pepper can that had been modified for smoking pot. To verify the story, we call my father who was the scoutmaster at the time. The dutch oven pizza mentioned in the Ian Harris episode makes its way into the story.
“I feel like most everything I learned about sex and life I learned from the Boy Scouts. And most of it was wrong.”
